One of Montco’s largest private companies is uprooting, writes Paul Schwedelson for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Willow Grove’s Asplundh Tree Expert, founded in 1928, is relocating its longtime headquarters from 708 Blair Mill Road to a larger office just a half-mile away in Horsham.
The company signed a long-term lease for 120,000 square feet at 680 Blair Mill Road, marking a 28% expansion of its current workspace. The new location was previously home to UnitedHealthcare, and will give Asplundh room to grow while keeping its 400 local employees close to home. The company plans to move in early 2026.
Asplundh’s Willow Grove property is now on the market. The 93,692-square-foot building on 13 acres is being marketed by Newark as a redevelopment opportunity. It has potential for industrial, office, residential, or medical uses.
Company officials say the move reflects a desire for a modern workplace to help recruit and retain talent. The Horsham building offers high visibility, improved amenities, and easy access to I-276 and Route 611.
Asplundh ranks among the largest private companies in the country, with more than 36,000 employees worldwide.
