‘Workforce Geography’ Prompts Mortgage Insurer Based in Center City for 45 Years to Relocate to Wayne
Radian Group has decided to leave Center City after 45 years, and its headquarters are heading to Wayne, writes Natalie Kostelni for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The mortgage insurance company will occupy 54,000 square feet at CrossPoint at Valley Forge, located at 550 East Swedesford Road. It has signed a sublease for the space once occupied by TiVo. The sublease expires Oct. 30, 2025.
Meanwhile, the company plans to sublease its 173,405-square-foot commercial space at 1500 Market Street in Philadelphia. Its six floors are furnished; six years remain on the lease.
“After careful assessment of our workforce geography, our post-pandemic physical needs, taking into account anticipated future growth, as well as employee interest in more flexible, virtual, and hybrid work arrangements, we pursued leasing space in the suburbs,” said Rashi Iyer, a Radian spokeswoman.
A survey revealed employees intending to flex their time between home, office, or some combination of the two.
“We believe this work arrangement best positions us for growth and provides our employees more flexibility about where and how they work,” said Iyer.
