The Pennsylvania Little League baseball team, local to Glenmoore, is set to continue an undefeated season with a spot in the Little League World Series, write Josh Sanders, Kerri Corrado, and Ed Specht for CBS News Philadelphia.
The team earned their spot after defeating Maryland for the second time this past Thursday in Connecticut. The win makes the team undefeated in this year’s tournament.
The team played confidently on both offensive and defensive fronts. The pitching and defense allowed only one run from Maryland for the entire game, making the final score 7-1.
Family and friends watched the game live and celebrated the win at Liberty Union Bar & Grill in Chester Springs. Parents and local coaches let out cheers and tears of joy as the team dominated the season with another win.
Local coach of another little league team, Michael Meehan, said, “Not only are they great baseball players, but they are great kids.”
With community and family support behind them, the Glenmoore Little League team will continue their successful season into a World Series game this week. The team will face off against the Midwest Champions, South Dakota, this Thursday.
