West Chester resident Eddie Caufield, who is on the autism spectrum, is a huge fan of baseball, writes Peter DiGiovanni for the Daily Local News.

He loves it so much that he was the manager for the Peirce Middle School and Henderson High School baseball teams while growing up. Today, he is still the manager at Penn State Brandywine, where he graduated from last year.

With the help of his mother, Megan, Caufield wanted to give back to the community by starting a website, Instagram page, and blog called “Eddie Knows West Chester.” There, he features pictures and stories of West Chester businesses, hoping to help the borough thrive.

“I want to encourage people to shop local, eat local, and keep it local,” said Caufield.

His mother said he contacts all the businesses on his own, and she writes things up on the blog.

“He loves baseball and West Chester so much, and he wanted to give back to the community for all the support he received through his school years,” she said.
