The Media Little League got some cherished Bryce Harper advice after their defeat at the Little League World Series.

The Media Little League team was on the team bus, dejected and sullen after their Little League World Series loss to Rhode Island, when they were told someone wanted to meet them: Bryce Harper.

The same evening the Media team was playing against Rhode Island, the Philadelphia Phillies, and Washington Nationals were playing the Little League Classic in Williamsport.

Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, and the rest of the Phillies squad came into the stadium during the game.

Harper said he had goosebumps watching Media play at LLWS. When Media fell in the final inning 7-2, Harper stayed behind, working his way down to the stadium garage where the kids were waiting.

“‘I know how you feel,’” team coach Tom Bradley recalls what Harper told the kids. “‘This is how we felt after the World Series.’”

Harper and Nick Castellanos then invited the boys to Citizen’s Bank Park for a game later this season.

Despite Media’s loss, there was a uniquely wonderful moment for the team. Most kids go to watch the Phillies play. In their case, the Phillies came to them.
