Wilmington-Based Bagel Company Expands to Co-Op Kitchen in West Chester

Van Buren Bagels, which currently offers bagels through pre-orders and farmers markets, operates out of a West Chester co-op kitchen.

Wilmington-based bagel company Van Buren Bagels has expanded their business into a West Chester co-op kitchen, writes Benjamin Chambers for Delaware Online.

Owners Gray Cowan and Ellie Gulick began making bagels in their home kitchen earlier this year. To grow the business, the duo now works out of a co-op kitchen in West Chester.

The team focuses on making high-quality bagels that are hand-rolled, cold fermented, and kettle boiled. Van Buren Bagels currently sells their product through local farmers markets throughout Wilmington, in addition to pre-orders with designated pickup times.

Shoppers can purchase bagels in orders of three, six, and twelve, and can choose from a wide variety of flavors.

Bagel flavors include plain, everything, sesame, rosemary sea salt, and cinnamon raisin.

The company also offers eight-ounce cream cheese containers for pick-up. Cream cheese flavors include plain and scallion.

The team also posts limited-edition bagel and cream cheese flavors on their Instagram. The duo recently offered blueberry bagels and strawberry cream cheese at the Brandywine Park Farmers Market.

The local bagel company regularly updates their website with upcoming farmers market appearances and pre-order information.
