Chester County Home to Nine of Pennsylvania’s 25 Most Expensive Housing Markets 

Chester County is home to nine towns with the most expensive housing markets in Pennsylvania, according to a new report by Stacker.

Chester County is home to nine towns that are ranked among the most expensive places to buy a home in Pennsylvania, according to a recently released ranking by Stacker

To compile the list, Stacker used data from Zillow. Places are ranked based on the Zillow Home Values Index for all homes as of May 2025. 

Devon ranks as the second most expensive housing market in the state, with a median home value of $945,574. This reflects a 3.4 percent increase over one year and a 51.7 percent rise over five years. 

Next, Berwyn is in third place with a median home value of $925,400, a one-year value increase of 5.3 percent, and a five-year increase of 48.7 percent. 

Malvern came in seventh place with a typical home value of $785,762. Additionally, Chester Springs made the top ten in tenth place with an average home value of $744,211. 

Other towns that made the list are Glenmoore at No. 19 ($659,801), West Chester at No. 20 ($650,322), Paoli at No. 22 ($623,688), and Kennett Square at No. 23 ($622,675). Finally, Exton is at No. 25 ($609,431).
