Chester County boasts six of the 25 Best Places to Buy a House in the Philadelphia Area, according to rankings from Niche.com.

To measure the quality and stability of an area’s real estate market, Niche.comtook into account key factors of a location’s housing market, such as home values, taxes, crime rates, and quality of local schools.

Among Chester County locales, Chesterbrook ranked the highest, taking the top spot in the entire region. The CDP (census-designated place) has a median home value of $343,500, which is significantly higher than the national average of $229,800.

Upper Uwchlan Township also made the top five, checking in at No. 4. The median home value there is $456,700. Devon follows in eighth place with a median home value of $606,200, the highest of Chester County’s entrants on the list.

Next is East Pikeland Township at No. 13, followed by West Pikeland Township at No. 23. These municipalities have a median home value of $320,800 and $563,700, respectively.

The list is rounded out by West Bradford Township at No. 25 with a median home value of $377,500.
