Affordable housing in Kennett Square has arrived after years of planning with the opening of Red Clay Manor, according to a staff report from the Daily Local News

The 60-unit affordable housing community is located in the heart of Kennett Square Borough and is designated for households that are aged 62 or older. It will provide housing to 46 households earning between 50 and 60 percent of the area median income, as well as to four households who are earning 20 percent of the area median income. Ten units are being reserved for households that are financially capable of paying market-rate rents.

The $15.9 million project is being supported by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, Chester County commissioners, and the Housing Authority of Chester County.
