The Lesher family, owners of Way-Har Farms, just north of Chester County, have dressed a dozen of their youngest calves in custom-made Eagles gear ahead of the Birds’ Super Bowl appearance on Sunday, writes Rita Giordano for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
And since the entire family are devoted Penn State supporters, their most distinguished calf now sports a Saquon Barkley jersey.
“As a family, we are just so excited that the Eagles are going to another Super Bowl,” said Lolly Lesher, who owns the farm with her husband, William. “My entire family enjoyed watching Saquon Barkley all season long. It’s awesome to see him contributing so much to the Eagles team.”
All the calves on the Leshers’ team are newborns and require jackets during the winter to stay warm. When the Eagles beat the Washington Commanders to secure their Super Bowl spot, the family, along with friends from the American Dairy Association Northeast, made sure that the calves were outfitted in Eagles-inspired gear ahead of the big game.
Way-Har Farms has also temporarily renamed their creamery shop Swoop’s Scoops, in honor of the team’s mascot.
