For Downingtown Author Dave Brown, New Book Was Most Enjoyable to Write

Downingtown author Dave Brown recently published his seventh book, Shadows of Glory, which collects memorable and offbeat World Series stories, writes Bruce Adams for The Daily Local News.

For Brown, the latest book was the most enjoyable to write. The author had previously penned a baseball trivia book with former Phillies relief pitcher Mitch Williams and a football trivia book with former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jim McMahon, among others.

“This was the first time that I collaborated on a book with a great long-time friend – Jeff Rodimer, a fellow baseball junkie and a friend since 1979, when I joined his fraternity at Gettysburg College,” said Brown. “I collaborated with Steve Bucci on my Steve Carlton book, which was fun, but Steve and I don’t go as far back as Jeff and me.”

He also noted that he had lots of fun researching and writing the stories because the World Series is baseball’s biggest event.

Brown plans to start working on his eighth book in the following months.

“I would like to write a biography about a former major league baseball player,” he said. “My preference is to collaborate with the player about his life and career.”
