Deputy Sheriff I

This position will protect the judge and courtroom personnel during criminal trials, maintain custody and control of prisoners, and process background checks for firearm permits. Other duties include completing prisoner extraditions and transports, completing detailed and accurate reports or reportable incidents, and performing other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and their Act 120 Police Academy training certification not more than five years prior to the employment date, or five years of law enforcement experience. Candidates should maintain firearms qualification and CPR and EMS provider-level certifications. Candidates should have knowledge of criminal and civil law and training in defensive and security tactics.

Youth Center Officer

This position will provide supervision, structure, and control of the residents throughout their daily activities on the units, provide counseling and mentoring while working with the residents, and monitor security cameras to ensure safety and security. Other duties include monitoring and reporting irregularities such as fire hazards, leaks, and security breaches, as well as assisting the Supervisor with troubleshooting all security and maintenance concerns.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree with at least one year of experience working in human services, a residential or institutional facility, school, or related. Candidates should have knowledge of the Pennsylvania State Child Protective Services Act, the Juvenile Act, and Title 55-3800 regulations and general knowledge of the County of Chester’s policies and procedures.

Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA)

This position will provide total or assisted care to residents, including bathing, dressing and grooming, assisting with meals, toilet needs, and mobility. Other duties involve answering call bells, maintaining a neat and clean resident environment, and providing post-mortem care.

The ideal candidate should have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree with Valid Nurse Aide Certification, or the ability to obtain one during job training. Candidates should have the ability to handle multiple tasks, be accurate and detail-oriented, and strong time management skills. Other skills include organizational, interpersonal, and conflict-related skills.
