Saint John's Hospice celebrated its 60th anniversary gala on April 18, 2024.

Saint John’s Hospice, one of Philadelphia’s leading providers of residential and day services for individuals experiencing homelessness, celebrates 60 years of service in 2024.

To celebrate its milestone anniversary, Saint John’s Hospice hosted a 60th Anniversary Gala at the American Swedish Historical Museum in South Philadelphia.

At the event five organizations were recognized with the Partner in Mission Award for their unwavering support of SJH.

The organizations were The Connelly Foundation; The Riley Family Foundation; the Philadelphia Phillies & Aramark; Saint Anastasia Parish; and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.

Each of the organizations have provided generous support to help SJH continue providing life-sustaining services to some of the region’s most vulnerable, at-risk, and in need communities in Philadelphia.

The evening included remarks from Barry Martin, program director of SJH; and Nikki Johnson-Alfano, an SJH board member who formerly experienced homelessness and is now the owner of the law practice, Philly Tax Diva.

The gala raised $200,000, which will go toward benefiting individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

SJH has residences that serve approximately 150 individuals transitioning from homelessness to independent living annually.
