Renovations at the former Kmart in the West Goshen Shopping Center are now underway to make space for a Target.

After it was approved late last year for a Target to be added to the West Goshen Shopping Center, renovations are now underway at the space of the former Kmart, writes Bill Rettew for The Daily Local News.

West Goshen Center owner Chris Robbins said that while it won’t be a massive Target, it will still be considered large at almost 120,000 square feet. He added that the inside of the building is being renovated to fit Target’s format and that it’s being built out to ensure everything lines up.

“It’s a big project,” said Robbins.

The project is expected to finish in the spring of 2025. It was approved by the local board of supervisors, along with a Chick-fil-A restaurant in October 2023.

“We’re excited to bring an easy, affordable and convenient shopping experience to new guests in the West Chester community with this new Target store. As we get closer to opening the store, we’ll have more specific details to share – including how the shopping experience will be tailored to serve local guests and the grand opening date,” said a Target spokesperson.
