With over 700 acres, there are talks of adding structures and improvements to Exton Park. A previous addition is the recently constructed dog park.

More improvements and additions are being planned for the 700-acre Exton Park in West Whiteland, writes Bill Rettew for The Daily Local News

While nothing is currently set in stone, these changes may include trail extensions, including a 5K route as well as a potential connector between the inner trails in the park and Chester Valley Trail and Uwchlan Trail. Work could begin as soon as next year.

Additionally, community members have suggested building more shade structures at the multi-use field area during a recent open house for Exton Park.  The structures would be erected in the southeast portion of the park, adjacent to the annual summer Community Day event.

“They discussed what they really want for the park,” said Justin Smiley, capital and special projects manager. “It’s all conceptual and likely to change.”

For phase two, the wish list includes playgrounds, an amphitheater, a zipline, and a fitness court, along with a restroom facility, additional picnic tables, pavilions, an expanded parking lot, more landscaping, and a fitness station.

Going forward, phase three could include the addition of basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts.
