French Creek State Park is one of the best places for camping in Pennsylvania.

With the weather slowly cooling off, this is a great time to start planning your next camping trip, writes Ben Silver for Main Line Today.

Several wonderful sites along the Main Line are ideal for setting up your tent, including two lovely, scenic spots in Chester County.

French Creek State Park in Elverson stretches across 7,730 acres, which makes it the largest contiguous forest between Washington D.C. and New York City. The park has plenty and varied woods, wetlands, lakes, and fields, which leaves plenty of room to fully experience nature through hiking, fishing, biking, and camping.

Meanwhile, Scenic Turtle Ridge covers 35 acres of Coatesville woodland. The farm would be an amazing spot to visit with your family or friends to try out a different kind of camping experience.

Located just off the Brandywine River, the destination offers visitors some of the best hiking and fishing in southeastern Pennsylvania. As a bonus, the farm offers campers the chance to bond with their animals which include goats, chickens, sheep, and geese.
