Lincoln University recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Research and Data Analytics Lab at Wright Hall, writes Bill Rettew for The Daily Local News.

The lab is part of the Center for Undergraduate Research within the Division of Student Success.

The event showcased the cutting–edge space that is dedicated to fostering undergraduate research. Aspiring and outstanding student researchers and faculty mentors started using the new facility on the first day of Black History Month, Feb. 1.

The lab is lined with comfortable seats — including bean bag chairs — and features inspiring graphics on the walls, whiteboards, and computers.

The lab will be a space where students and faculty will collaborate and where ideas will flourish, said Lincoln President Brenda Allen.

“It will help students to really feel learning…and apply it to real work questions,” she added. “A room like this will take these ideas in classrooms and push them to another level.”

The facility will, among other things, be used by students who will participate in the university’s 2024 Summer Underground Research Boot Camp.
