Dr. Brenda Allen's presidential contract at Lincoln University has been extended until 2030.

Lincoln University President Brenda A. Allen will continue to perform in that role for another seven years after the university’s Board of Trustees announced it would extend her contract through 2030, writes Chanel Hill for The Philadelphia Tribune.

“I have seen President Allen lead with grace and confidence in the face of a global health crisis, racial uprising, and political dissonance,” said Lincoln University Board of Trustees Chairman Gerald W. Bruce. “The Lincoln University Board of Trustees is elated that President Allen has accepted this contract extension and the duty to lead us into the next era of success as a leading HBCU.”

Allen, a New Jersey native, was appointed Lincoln’s 14th president in 2017. During her time with the university, graduation rates have improved and the number of individual donors has doubled. Additionally, the average alumni giving rate has increased.

Allen has implemented a strategic plan that aims to secure HBCU’s spot among the great liberal arts institutions. As part of this plan, she revised the curriculum and increased support for faculty teaching and scholarship.

She has also expanded co-curricular opportunities and implemented extensive renovations, upgrades, and additions to the campus.
