Former President of Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust to be Honored by Chester County Council, Boy Scouts of America
Richard (Dick) Kunsch Sr., retired longtime president and CEO of Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust, has been selected by the Chester County Council, Boys Scouts of America to receive its Annual Distinguished Citizen Award.
The Distinguished Citizen Award honors an individual who has provided community leadership to a philanthropic effort, contributed to their communities through business leadership, and who exemplifies the qualities Scouting works to instill on youth.
Kunsch is known to many as “Mr. Phoenixville.” He has been involved in community activities for over 60 years and has served on the board of directors of Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville Area School District, Phoenixville Area YMCA, the Colonial Theatre, and The Free Clinic in Phoenixville.
He has also served as the President of the Pennsylvania Bankers’ Association and was the chairperson of the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation Board of Directors for 8 years.
In addition, he supported Health Care Access, an organization that helps low-income uninsured people in the Phoenixville area get access to dental, vision mammography, and other services.
The Night of Stars Gala to celebrate our Annual Distinguished Citizen Award will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Chester County Historical Society in West Chester. The Gala will benefit the Scouting programs of the Chester County Council.
“Richard Kunsch Sr. is truly worthy of this award, and we are very excited to celebrate him”, Chester County Council, Development Director Kristin Conran, said in a statement.
Past recipients of the award include George Ruggeri, Dr. Madeleine Adler, Joel Frank, Reverend W. Frank Allen, and Christopher Fiorentino.
