The New Garden Township Board of Supervisors has granted final approval to West Chester-based Short Brothers for a 51-unit development on the western side of Thompson Road, writes Richard Gaw for the Chester County Press

The approval, which was granted during a Feb. 22 meeting, comes after several drafts and close to seven years of presentations made before the Board.

The development will feature three- and four-bedroom single-family homes that will range between 2,800 and 3,200 square feet. Each of the homes will have an attached garage. The prices will start at $650,000.

The developer is expected to break ground on the project in early or mid-summer. It is expected that the construction process will take between two and three years.

The final project also now looks significantly different from when the developer first presented it. In 2016, the proposal had called for a 77-unit development of three-bedroom homes with detached garages and driveways.

“It has been a rather lengthy road of approval, but we are pleased to report that the township consultants have been satisfied with the changes made to the plan,” said attorney John Jaros.
