Unionville Farm Wins Gold Medals at World Cheese Awards in Norway
The Farm at Doe Run in Unionville recently had an impressive run at the World Cheese Awards in Norway, where it won three gold medals, writes Craig LaBan for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The prestigious international competition gathers 4,500 cheeses from more than 40 countries.
The Chester County farm took the top awards with its winning trio of Hickory on the Hill, Batch #17, and Double Doe.
Additionally, they won bronze with Hummingbird, St. Malachi, St. Malachi Reserve, Black Swallowtail, and Runnymede cheeses.
“It is an honor to be recognized on the world stage with the best cheesemakers in the world,” said the farm on their Facebook.
While these are hard-to-come-by limited editions right now, you can grab a gouda-style St. Malachi and creamy oval Hummingbird for your holiday cheeseboard or as the perfect gift for a cheese lover in your family. The farm’s perennial stars are widely available.
