The brewing industry in the Philadelphia region is continuing to grow, with eight breweries and taprooms slated to open in the coming months, and two of them are in Chester County, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Steel City Brewing in Coatesville is the new business endeavor of restaurateur and chef Philip Ferro. The restaurant and brewpub will be located inside the old YMCA building and is expected to open its doors next spring. The concept will brew ten to 12 varieties of beer on-site.

According to Ferro, a traditional restaurant will occupy the upstairs space while the basement will be home to a beer hall with pool tables and dart boards.

Meanwhile, husband-and-wife duo Stephen and Kara Rogacki are planning on opening Twelve78 Brewing’s first brick-and-mortar location in Phoenixville by December. The couple started the business two years ago and have since been attending festivals and community events to build brand awareness.

The new brewery and taproom will offer 4,000 square feet of taproom space and a 988-square-foot beer garden that will open in spring.
