For those who are looking for a hip place to live in Chester County, West Chester is the place to be, according to Sandy Smith at Philadelphia Magazine.

This town of 19,000 has an urban feel but a relaxed atmosphere. However, the figure doubles when the West Chester University students come back for the fall semester. The university is home to many events and exhibits but the downtown district is the hub of culture.

Restaurants such as the Limoncello, Mas Mexicali Cantina, The Mediterranean, and Carlino’s gourmet market. For retail therapy, shoppers can check out Blink for women’s clothing and Creep Records to take home their tunes.

Victorian homes dot the streets, but there’s also a selection of new homes to choose from. As of April 2023, the typical house value is $575,525 and has increased by 6.8 percent in the last year.
