Thanks to a poster, there have been claims of seeing a Bigfoot-like creature in Everhart Park, but it may just be a giggle for residents.

An elusive legend, Bigfoot — otherwise known as the Sasquatch — has been spotted all around North America over the decades. Now, there are claims that the creature has been seen in West Chester’s very own Everhart Park, writes Bill Rettew for The Daily Local News.

While it may be an ongoing giggle since Chester County staffers posted a video starring Bigfoot for April Fool’s, there was a poster recently being posted around West Miner Street and other county parks. The release was featured on a Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources letterhead.

“Due to encounters in the area of a creature resembling ‘BIGFOOT,’ we are instructing all park visitors to observe elevated park etiquette, be cautious of your surroundings, and to keep the location of any small children/pets within a tighter scope of awareness,” read the poster.

However, West Chester Fire and Police spokesperson Dave March said that there have been no confirmed sightings of Bigfoot and to contact authorities immediately about anything suspicious. He added that the poster did not come from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

A group that calls themselves Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization reported that back on Sept. 11, 2011, there were possible whoops and knocks heard outside a home in Nottingham that may have resembled Bigfoot. So far, this is the only reported sighting in Chester County.
