Vanguard was one of the two Chester County companies that made the Forbes list for America's Best Employers for Women.

Malvern-based investment giant Vanguard is expanding its business to the Southwest United States, recently signing a lease for a building in Scottsdale, Arizona amid growth plans, writes Ron Davis for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Vanguard already has an office that is nearby the newly signed building and employs 3,000 people in Scottsdale.

The nearly 135,000-foot space at Northsight Corporate Center is three stories tall and has over 40,000 square feet per floor. The space is currently undergoing renovation and is considered one of the largest office deals in the Phoenix metro area.

But Vanguard is not just growing in Arizona, it is also expanding on the home front.

The investor is buying two connected five-story buildings in Malvern. Vanguard operates about 31 buildings across Pennsylvania and employs 12,400 people in the region.
