Anticipating the eventual return of its employees to their physical offices, Vanguard is opting for a hybrid work model. Sridhar Natarajan and Annie Massa explored the staff’s post-pandemic schedule for Bloomberg.

Many of the 17,300 workers for the investment giant will work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

“The pandemic has affected so many aspects of our lives, and how we work is one of them,” the company said. “Vanguard will pursue a working model that will blend increased flexibility with the known benefits of in-person collaboration.”

By making this decision, Vanguard joins another two money managers also considering a hybrid schedule: Two Sigma Investments and Bridgewater Associates.

Other financial organizations, however, are pushing for a full return to the office as soon as possible. This includes Goldman Sachs Group and JPMorgan Chase. These firms want the majority of their U.K. and U.S. employees back in the office in the next two months.
