Spring City Adds Pop of Color with Large-Scale Mural on Main Street
The new, colorful mural on Spring City Main Street was painted by local artist Ellie McIntosh as part of a partnership between her and the Spring City Improvements League, according to a staff report from The Daily Local News.
McIntosh was commissioned to paint the large-scale outdoor mural on the building at 126 N. Main Street, on the exterior wall facing the new parking lot at Main and Yost streets. The painting features the rolling hills and fields that are abundant throughout Chester County.
McIntosh has spent the past 15 years painting commercial and residential murals in the United States and abroad. In fact, visual storytelling through mural painting is her passion.
“When SCIL approached me about the project, I knew this was an opportunity to make an impact on the rich history of Spring City,” said McIntosh. “Murals uplift people and being around art changes their attitude in a big way.”
Her other works can be seen all around the region, including at Bloom in Chester Springs and Revivalist Spirits in Elverson.
