A program at Phoenixville Hospital is helping young adults with disabilities get into the job market, writes Wakisha Bailey for CBS News Philadelphia.

Project SEARCH, which began in 2010, is part of the KenCrest Learning Center. It enrolls students in a school-to-work internship program by training them in certain skills that are within their area of interest.

Ani Hovespian wants to work in the film industry, and she spends her days at the hospital creating videos.

“I like interacting with coworkers, I like talking to people,” she said.

The second half of her day is at the KenCrest Learning Center in a classroom learning the skills she needs for her career.

“We work with our communities and we have an opportunity to advance individuals and especially our youth, it’s kind of a no-brainer, it just makes sense,” said Rich Newell, president and CEO of Phoenixville and Pottstown hospitals.

The class, led by Mark Hauck, graduated Thursday.
