Phoenixville Hospital has been recognized for its diagnosis and treatment of heart failure patients with the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines – Heart Failure Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for the third consecutive year, writes Monica Sager for the Daily Local News.

“Phoenixville Hospital is dedicated to improving the quality of care for our patients with heart failure by implementing the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines – HF initiative,” said Steve Tullman, president and CEO of Phoenixville Hospital.

He said that the tools and resources provided help the hospital track and measure its success “in meeting evidenced-based clinical guidelines developed to improve patient outcomes.”

To earn the award, Phoenixville Hospital had to meet defined quality achievement measures of diagnosis and treatment, and keep the results at a specified level for a set period of time.

According to Chief Quality Officer Sue Reichenbach, information collected from patients is automatically forwarded to the American Heart Association. This shows that the hospital is consistently providing the care needed by its patients.
