Brandywine Valley SPCA’s longest resident dog, King, has finally been adopted and is heading to his forever home after 563 days at the shelter, writes Mallory Metzner for WRDE

King’s new owner, Sarah, had been following the pooch’s story for a while. After grieving the loss of her beloved dog, she was finally ready to meet him at the West Chester campus.

“After losing my dog in December, my house has felt empty,” said Sarah. “King has already brought so much heart and laughter back. I’m excited to share my home with such a happy, loving pup.”

King is already settling in great and enjoying lots of walks, toys, and naps.

BVSPCA thanked everybody involved in King’s life journey and adoption process, including volunteers, staff, and King’s foster.
