Phoenixville native Morgan Frees is the Vice President of J.P. Morgan Private Bank.

“I focus on Chester County’s ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, philanthropists, and business leaders, offering a comprehensive approach to address the opportunities and challenges of complex balance sheets and concentrated assets,” he said. “My favorite part of the job is when I can help my clients plan, and realize, their goals and dreams. After all, isn’t that what life is about?”

Frees, who began working when he was 12 years old after starting a lawn care business with his brother, graduated from Phoenixville High School and earned bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Business Management from the University of Delaware. He credits Ben Hesse, the Chief Operating Officer at J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management, with having the biggest impact on his career.

“Ben was my boss through the pandemic, and I would not be where I am today without his mentoring and support,” said Frees. “Despite our ever-changing world, Ben continues to make time to help guide me through strategic business development/tactical relationship management topics.”

Frees described his proudest professional achievement.

“As part of my previous role at J.P. Morgan, I worked on a team that carved out our U.S. Wealth Management franchise within Chase to provide our wealth management service to the mass affluent across the country,” he said. “This was a momentous change for J.P. Morgan’s Asset & Wealth Management line of business, as it created the standalone Global Private Bank. Because of this work, I was featured in the Wall Street Journal — a professional dream — discussing the important work I helped to expand to more people.”

Frees’s favorite Chester County restaurants are Butterscotch Pastry Shop in Birchrunville and Root Down Brewing Company in Phoenixville.

Frees and the rest of the 2023 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration on Thursday, May 18 at Penn State Great Valley.
