Quadruplet Sisters from Bishop Shanahan High School Show Animals Together at Pennsylvania Farm Show
Quadruplet sisters Emma, Hannah, Deborah, and Sarah Uhlman — Bishop Shanahan High School seniors — are competing together at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, writes Elizabeth Worthington for WNEP.
The sisters are showing pigs this week, something they have done together many times since their first event when they were eight. They started with pigs but have since picked up many different animals, including cattle, sheep, and even a goat.
The girls were born into working with animals as both their mother and their grandfather are veterinarians. However, despite their having nearly identical DNA, the Quads are all very different.
“We learn more about each other every day, said Emma. “We fight more doing this probably than we do anything else.”
The sisters, who competed over the weekend, will be auctioning off their pigs in hopes of raising enough money for new animals next year.
“Once you work hard for something for like three months, it’s exciting to finally see your hard work pay off, even if you don’t place as well as you’d hoped to,” said Hannah.
