Bishop Shanahan High School is more than just a high school. It is an experience that offers young men and women an educational journey of academic excellence, rich extracurricular opportunities, and a community that radiates the Christ-centered values of love, respect, and responsibility.

Since its inaugural year, Shanahan’s STEM Pathways program has continued to inspire the next generation of innovators by empowering students to be creative, collaborative, and critical-thinking problem-solvers. Its first cohort of students is hard at work on Senior STEM Capstone Projects.

The projects challenge students to apply the skills and knowledge they have learned through participation in the STEM Pathways program. Students identify a real-world problem, develop related research question(s), design and conduct research, analyze results, report findings, and if applicable, design a physical solution to the problem.

Working with a mentor currently in a STEM-related field, students rely on collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills to design and implement their project. They will present their final project to a panel of Shanahan faculty and STEM professionals toward the end of the semester.

Students in the STEM Pathways program also recently attended an Engineering Mini-Camp at Widener University. At the camp, Shanahan students interacted with current Widener engineering students and faculty while completing various laboratory activities such as programming a robot, designing a bridge, exploring computer modeling, and working with biomedical devices and systems.

Now is the time to start your admissions journey to become a Bishop Shanahan Eagle. The last exclusive opportunity to visit Shanahan is April 9, the Spring Personal Tour Day. Attendees will experience a first-hand look at the school with a Shanahan ambassador accompanying them on a customized tour.
