The beginning of a new year is usually the perfect time to take up a healthier lifestyle and head to the gym or splurge on a personal trainer. According to a new report by The Economics Daily, Chester County residents are in luck as they have a wealth of fitness and recreational opportunities to choose from.
Chester County ranked among the top ten counties in Pennsylvania with the highest concentration of jobs in fitness and recreational sports centers for June 2022, the latest month from which data is available.
With an employment location quotient of 1.46, the county ranked fourth in the state. Meanwhile, the overall number of employees in the field, which was 1,519 in June, placed Chester County in sixth place.
Chester County also ranked in the top ten based on wages location quotient, landing at No. 7. Employees who work in fitness and recreational sports centers are paid an average of $367 per week, which is the seventh-highest average in the Keystone State.
