West Chester’s QVC Goes Hallmark with Film Release of ‘Holly and the Hot Chocolate’

Ryan Farrell, left, and Hanna Gaffney, right start in QVC's holiday movie Holly and the Hot Chocolate.

West Chester’s flagship shopping network QVC is making a wintry debut in the holiday movie scene, competing with the likes of made-for-television moguls like Hallmark and Lifetime, writes Dan Snierson for Entertainment Weekly.

Holly and the Hot Chocolate follows a cosmopolitan film critic named Holly — played by the prolific Philadelphia-based actress, model, and voiceover artist Hanna Gaffney— who finds herself stuck in the fictional town of Pine Falls.

QVC’s In the Kitchen with David host David Venable plays a vendor for the town’s beloved hot chocolate, serving as a plot vehicle for the film’s partnership with NYC-based dessert destination Serendipity.

The film also stars Ryan Farrell, Delco Proper alumnus Steven Gerber and Philadelphia area actress Olivia Gropp. The film premiers on free streaming platform QVC+ on Nov. 24.
