Scottish poet Robert Burns’ translated quote — “And would some Power the small gift give us; To see ourselves as others see us!” — is wholly appropriate in light of a recent Main Line Tonight article.

Author Tara Behan chronicles the multifaceted appeal of Peddler’s Village, providing an outsider’s view of one of the county’s most enduring tourism destinations.

Behan fashioned itineraries under three categories: romance, kids, and friends.

  • Take a leisurely stroll and pop into the locally owned shops
  • Stop for a pre-dinner cocktail at Hewn Spirits’ Tasting Room
  • Cozy up to a romantic meal at Earl’s New American
  • Make a night of it by staying at the Golden Plough Inn

  • Gaze at the 12-foot sand sculptures constructed for the summer 2022 anniversary season
  • Ride the vintage carousel at Giggleberry Fair, an indoor fun center
  • Browse jaZams toy store or the kids’ stacks at the Lahaska Bookshop
  • Sugar up at Nina’s Waffles & Ice Cream, The Lucky Cupcake Company, Skip’s Candy Corner, or the new Cloak and Wand, where the potions are magical and dessertish

  • Bond over an iced coffee Mama Hawk’s Kitchen & Coffee
  • Unwind at David J. Witchell Salon & Spa
  • Finish the day with a meal on the deck at Buttonwood Grill

Whatever the motivation, the destination is always enticing for first-timers and return visitors alike.

Christine Hensel Triantos, Peddler’s Village director of marketing and communications agrees, saying, “With annual festivals and seasonal events, there’s always a reason to visit.”
