Check Out Where Chester County Ranks Among Counties with the Least Credit Card Debt

Chester County residents, by and large, seem to be paying their bills on time, as consumers in the county have some of the least credit card debt per capita in Pennsylvania, according to a recently released report by SmartAsset.

To find the places with the least credit card debt, SmartAsset calculated the ratio of credit card debt to per capita income for each county. Additionally, it calculated the ratio of credit card debt to net wealth per capita to provide a broader picture of financial stability in a given area. 

Chester County ranked second in Pennsylvania with the lowest credit card debt, with an index of 91.56. This puts it at No. 119 nationwide. 

The county has a per capita income of $52,711 and credit card debt of $4,226. That represents eight percent of income and places the county at No. 11 statewide and No. 627 nationwide. 

The county also has a per capita wealth of $82,602, which places its credit card debt as a percentage of wealth at 5.1 percent. This puts Chester County in first place in the state and No. 54 in the country.
