Check Out How Chester County Ranks Among Counties Where Residents Earn the Most Investment Income

Chester County ranks near the top among counties in Pennsylvania, where residents earn the most investment income, according to a recently released report by SmartAsset. 

To identify the places with the most investment income, SmartAsset compared all counties in the country based on three main metrics: ordinary dividends, qualified dividends, and net capital gains. The data was sourced from IRS Statistics of Income County Data. 

Overall, Chester County placed third in Pennsylvania with an investment index of 7.66. This put it at No. 54 in the nation. 

The county recorded $2,946,988 in net capital gains, ranking third in the state and No. 60 nationwide. This is significantly above Pennsylvania’s average ($409,689). 

Ordinary dividends were at $1,208,084, making the county No. 3 in Pennsylvania and No. 49 nationwide. 

Meanwhile, the county recorded $934,264 in qualified dividends, which is also the third-highest in the state. Nationwide, this puts Chester County at No. 47.
