Kimberton-based Hares Hill Brewing joined forces with Tony Joe’s House of Great Eats to open a taproom at the restaurant’s former space in Pottstown, according to a report from Breweries in Pennsylvania.

Hares Hill will be taking over the space entirely with “new ideas, a new look, and a new menu,” according to the brewery’s Facebook page.

The space at 1161 Ridge Road in Pottstown will reopen and start serving eager patrons in mid-March.

“We look forward to upholding the legacy of Tony Joe’s, being an integral part of the community and South Coventry, and setting exceptional standards while providing you with an exceptional experience, exceptional food and drink, and an exceptional staff!” the brewery said.

Hares Hill Brewing Company was founded by Bill Rutter in Kimberton at 1300 Hares Hill Road in the Stonehouse Grille. Rutter owns Stonehouse and is a chef by trade.

Since its opening, the brewery has been contract-brewing at Stable 12 and plans to continue working in the same way for the next few years.
