The following positions are available at the ARC of Chester County:

Director of Human Resources

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies in collaboration with the management team.

Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing employee benefits, and all activities related to Human Resources and Personnel matters for The Arc of Chester County.

Duties will primarily focus on the non-Agency With Choice human resource needs of the agency however the position is expected to work in collaboration with the Agency With Choice Program Human Resource Manager and AWC team as needed and directed.   

Responsibilities include advising staff on employment laws, policies, and practices; manage recruitment and retention initiatives and HR practices; ensure compliance with HR confidentiality and HIPAA; manage the agency employee record storage and retention; manage, develop and ensure personnel policies and procedures are in place and staff are trained on those policies and procedures; work with leaders and management to promote positive morale, resolve employee relation issues; ensures process and completion of employee’s performance and salary reviews and update agency position salary scale at least annually; work collaboratively with the CEO and management team on a table of organization for the agency; participate in budget discussions; manage agency benefits with the agency broker; coordinate and manage yearly open enrollment for benefits; process and administer Worker’s Compensation claims, leave of absence requests, FMLA and disability paperwork; process and manage unemployment claims and attend  UE hearings; oversee employee training requirements.

A candidate for this position should have a bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources preferred; at least 5 years minimum related experience in HR or Supervisory or employment-related experience preferred.

Direct Support Professional—Full and Part Time

The Direct Support Professional will help adults with disabilities so they can fully engage in the community; they will help the individual build and establish independence with shopping assistance, daily living tasks, community activities/outings, etc.; they will maintain a safe and positive environment for individuals.

The position requires a high school diploma, current and valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record as per The ARC’s Safety Policies and Procedures; required background checks and clearances.

 HR Administrative Assistant—Agency with Choice Program

The HR Administrative Assistant performs a variety of administrative duties within and for the Agency with Choice program pertaining to the Human Resources function of the ARC of Chester County.  The Administrative Assistant will work closely with the HR Department in the administration of worker’s compensation, in-service training for Support Service Professionals.  

Responsibilities include performing the necessary steps in the hiring process of AWC Support Service Professionals; creating personnel files for AWC Support Service Professionals; write and send out AWC offer letters and/or rejection letters to new hires and/or applicants; input necessary AWC new hire information into the Paychex database, the Unicentric database and MITC; prepare instructional and disciplinary documentation for SSPs when performance issues are being addressed by AWC administrative staff; prepare termination of employment letters for SSPs; generate payroll status forms for new hired SSPs; maintain and keep up the filing needed for all personnel files and clearance files; assist with the maintenance and updating of the manual of personnel policies and procedures for AWC; request and send copies of clearances when requested by employees; respond to employment verification requests for SSPs; maintain new hire packets for the AWC program; assist with development and maintenance of training modules and materials for SSPs; research and organize information to assist with the update and improvement of HR practices; provide coverage for other administrative staff as needed.
