Kate Winslet has now won an Emmy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Mare Sheehan in Mare of Easttown, but she’s not done with the limited HBO series yet, writes Hasan Sheikh for CodeList.biz.

She’s mentioned a possible second season several times.

“It has been talked about, of course, because the success of the program really surprised us all,” Winslet said.

“The talks are continuing, but I think until the scripts are finished, we can’t really respond and find out what a full story from season two could be and where Mare is headed.”

Winslet admitted it’s not possible to match what’s already been done in the first season.

That doesn’t mean a second season should be “as engaging and fun as the first season,” she said.

She also noted the acceptance of her character, which ate fast food and vaped, showed that the entertainment industry is changing, focusing less on a woman’s looks and shape.

“At the same time, what happens then is that the younger generations of women, who are not part of our sector, also begin to feel good about themselves,” the actress said.
