Tuesday With Michael: Success Starts With a Dream

Look at where you are today and dream of where you want to be tomorrow. We start by sowing the seeds of the life you want to harvest in the future. Create a crystal-clear vision of what you want to do, have, and become. What goals do you want to accomplish in your life?
Goal setting is the foundation of effective personal management and the key to becoming more proactive. The winds of change are always blowing, we steer our direction by our dreams and our goals.
One of the most magnificent secrets of goal setting and goal achievement is that the process becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy to progressively reach ever-higher goals.
Study after study, book after book, all say the same thing about peak performers: they have crystal clear goals in all areas of their life. The focus is on having a balanced meaningful life.
YOUR DREAMS ARE YOUR FUTURE and the future is where you are going to spend the rest of your life. Albert Einstein once said, “Your imagination is your preview of life’s coming attractions.”
While most people spend their lives struggling to earn a living, a much smaller number seem to have everything going their way. Instead of just earning a living, the smaller group is busily working at building and enjoying a fortune. Everything just seems to work out for them.
What’s the major difference between these two groups?
There are so many factors that affect our lives – like the kind of parents we have, the schools we attended, the part of the country we grew up in but none of these have as much potential power for affecting our futures as our ability to dream and then turn those dreams into reality.
Success starts with a dream. You can turn your dreams into goals with definite plans of action and you will be able to begin achieving the results you want in life with intentionality.
Do you remember when you were a child and no dream seemed too big?
Are you a dreamer? Do you just sit around and allow your mind to vacation?
Every one of us when we were young had a common trait – we were dreamers. The world hadn’t stunted our imagination yet, causing us to believe that we couldn’t possibly achieve what our hearts longed for.
Eventually, we started to let our dreams die. People began to tell us that we couldn’t do the things we wanted. It was impossible. Responsible people don’t pursue their dreams. Settle down, get a job, be dependable and most of all be responsible. Take care of business, live the mundane, be content.
All dreamers (who eventually become accomplishers) have heard these things. Yet they overcome them. They refuse to accept someone else’s “reality” for their own life. They let the average people live their average lives, bound by fear, while they pursue their chosen future – their dream!
Don’t believe the people who tell you that you can’t or won’t.
Believe your dream. Believe that it can be your future!
