Even amateurs can create stunning displays like this by partaking in a floral arrangement workshop.

While floral design workshops were already popular before the pandemic in Chester County, the classes on how to make bouquets, table arrangements, and wreaths have now become the new must-do, writes Melissa Jacobs for Main Line Today.

“People are looking for fun activities to do outdoors with small groups of people,” said Mara Tyler, owner of the Farm at Oxford.

This fun and relaxing activity is also giving people a chance to reconnect with creativity and their friends.

“If you haven’t seen one another much over the quarantine, this is a great way to do an organized activity that’s creative and relaxing,” said Christine Bennett, owner of Berwyn’s StudioFlora.

Bennett had to switch to online classes during the pandemic, but now she is back to teaching many classes in person. She also keeps getting requests to hold workshops in people’s backyards.

Meanwhile, Tyler welcomes people from as far as Virginia and Harrisburg to her Lincoln University farm. The property is filled with blooming flowers and a variety of foliage that gets incorporated into workshops.

While she usually holds five workshops per year, this year she has already held 17 to meet the increased demand.
