After 12 years of serving local families, The Center on Central (TCOC) in Paoli — a popular hub for youth art workshops, camps, and mommy-and-me classes — closed up shop earlier this month, writes Caroline O’Halloran for SAVVY Main Line.

Owner Katie Hartley Opher sold its yellow headquarters on March 19. Ready to move on, Opher called the change “inevitable” and said she would honor all offsite contracts for the year.

TCOC said goodbye to local families — many of which will feel its loss profoundly — with a farewell cupcake truck party.

Tredyffrin mom Karen Murray was among those who showed up for the sendoff.

“My son really enjoyed comic book camp, and my daughter greatly benefited from the social skills camps where trained therapists provided a fun summer opportunity for kids with special needs,” said Murray. “Katie and her team will certainly be missed by many local families.”
