The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce is bringing the North Pole to Chester County by giving children a chance to tell Santa Claus what they want for Christmas via Zoom.

A Virtual Visit with Santa sponsored by West Chester University will be held on Friday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 12 from 4-7 PM.

GWCC usually hosts the annual QVC West Chester Christmas Parade on the first Friday in December but announced its cancellation back in September due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nonetheless, the nonprofit came up with an idea to help bring the holiday spirit to the region.

“While we won’t be presenting Santa as the star of the annual Christmas Parade, we still want kids to see the big man,” said Dave Fairman, Interim President of GWCC. “The chamber is excited to team up with our great community partners at West Chester University to provide this opportunity in a safe and socially distant setting.”

“West Chester University is especially pleased to collaborate with GWCC as we work together to ensure that all children in our community have some holiday fun during this season,” said WCU President Chris Fiorentino. “Being a reliable resource and giving back to our neighbors will always be at the core of who we are as Golden Rams.”

The virtual event is free and open to children of all ages. Click here for more information and to register for your Zoom call.
