The Chester County History Center debuted its much-anticipated new exhibit, “Becoming Chester County,” with a commemorative ribbon-cutting attended by elected officials and local dignitaries.

This week’s ceremony took place on the terrace of the History Center, and speeches were given by State Sen. Andrew Dinniman; James Sargent, President of CCHC’s Board of Directors; and Ellen Endslow, CCHC’s Director of Collections/Curator.

“We hope that anyone that comes to see the exhibit can learn something new about Chester County,” said Endslow. “We hope you find creative ways to learn and are inspired to do better in your own community by what you see here.”

The product of dedicated planning, “Becoming Chester County” is the first major re-installation of the History Center’s core exhibition in more than two decades. Special arrangements are being made to protect the safety of all visitors, including the need to make reservations and the close monitoring of numbers in the gallery.

The mission of the Chester County History Center is to inspire, inform, and build community identity by preserving and sharing the remarkable story of Chester County and its people.
