As we are in the final days before the election, you may be concerned how the outcome might impact the market.

We expect volatility, particularly if we do not know who wins the election and the decision is delayed as ballots are counted for what could be days after Nov. 3. We are here to provide a bit of context for you.

Below you will see a graphic from one of our investment partners, Invesco. The graphic shows regardless of which party the president is from, in the past, the S&P has generally performed well. Some people may be discouraged if their preferred candidate loses. However, as you can see, the market has a similar performance under Presidents Obama and Reagan, Presidents Ford and Clinton. Monetary policy, the Fed, and economic fundamentals have a far greater impact on the market than who the president is at the time.
