
The prestigious award was named for the nonprofit’s founder and celebrates an individual who, through leadership and community service, exemplifies the Surrey philosophy of “Neighbor Helping Neighbor.”
McErlane is highly regarded among his peers and clients for his longstanding service and leadership roles in numerous business, civic, and charitable organizations. A man of tremendous character, McErlane epitomizes the principles of leadership, self-discipline, hard work, and a duty to serve his country and community. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1970, with one year in Vietnam. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and earned his Parvuli Dei Catholic Scouting Award.
In 2014, McErlane received the President’s Award from West Chester University and was also recognized by the Southeast Pennsylvania March of Dimes for more than 20 years of service and commitment. He was named the 2011 Citizen of the Year by the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce and honored as the 2010 Distinguished Citizen Award from the Chester County Council, Scouts BSA.
McErlane is one of the founding members of Lamb McErlane, which was organized in January 1971. He has concentrated his practice in the areas of general business, finance, real estate, municipal, and governmental regulations.
