Drew Shelton, a rising junior at Downingtown West High School and one of the top offensive linemen in the nation’s Class of 2022, is fielding scholarship offers from some of the top college football programs in the country, writes Mike Vukovcan for Pittsburgh Sports Now.

A four-star recruit who is ranked among the Top 200 players in his class, Shelton can choose from an impressive list of schools to further his education and continue his football career. His offers so far include Penn State, Pitt, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Maryland, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.

“At first, the attention I was getting for my recruitment was a bit crazy,” said Shelton.

But now, he is starting to settle into his new normal.

“My head coach has been very good to me,” he said, “and has really given me a lot of advice about the recruiting process.”

Shelton is currently trying to formulate a plan with his family to visit the schools he is considering once visits are permitted.

“I’m looking a lot for the academic portion of it and where I can get a high-level degree, along with playing high-level football at the same time,” he said.
