Immaculata University has honored Dr. Elizabeth Faunce, a West Chester resident, with the 2020 Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award. The award is given to a faculty member who demonstrates excellence in teaching.

Faunce has been a full-time faculty member in Immaculata’s Business, Fashion, and Leadership Department since 2011 and had previously been an adjunct faculty member at the university for 12 years. She teaches at the undergraduate and graduate levels and for the online and accelerated programs.

Faunce lends her expertise as a member of several campus committees and hosts financial planning seminars for the Immaculata community that focus on estate and retirement planning.

Prior to joining Immaculata, Faunce worked for the Philadelphia office of the FDIC for nine years as a commissioned bank examiner. Her duties included conducting safety and soundness examinations of financial institutions, as well as compliance exams. She was also the sole proprietor of a financial planning firm, EGFaunce Consulting.

In 2015, Faunce was the recipient of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) 2015 Teaching Excellence Award. As an expert in her field, she has presented to national and international audiences in Paris, London, New York, Philadelphia, and Houston on topics related to faculty metacognition and business and financial issues.

Faunce graduated from Immaculata University in 1990 with a degree in business administration and economics. She received her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1992 from the College for Financial Planning; earned an MBA, with an emphasis in finance, from Allentown College of Saint Francis DeSales in 1999; and a Ph.D. from Capella University in organizational management in 2010.

“I was honored and yet humbled to be selected by my peers to receive the Lindback Award this past spring because I walk amid amazingly high qualified faculty members,” said Faunce. “My sincerest thanks to all of the students that I have had the opportunity to teach over the past two decades at IU because they inspired and impressed me in each class I taught.”
